1. What did you do this past week?

I worked on creating a site-wide Search component for the Software Engineering Project. Then, I worked on a bone detection algorithm for my Skeleton Graphics project. Other than that, I did my weekly assignments for my other classes. I did my weekly homework for Theory of Interest and weekly quizzes for Chemistry.

2. What’s in your way?

There is a lot of work due next week. On Wednesday, I have a graphics project due. For Software Engineering, Phase 3 is due this Thursday. I have a Chemistry Exam this Thursday. Other than that, I have homework for Theory of Interest due this Thursday

3. What will you do next week?

Next week, I will be putting in a lot of hours into Graphics and Software Engineering. For Graphics, I need to implement a feature where the user can rotate the bone. For Software Engineering, I need to write a smarter ingestion script for data instances for city-based covid data. More importantly, I need to start studying for Chemistry Exam. I will be doing a lot of practice problems and practice active recall since there is a lot of memorizations.

4. What did you think of Paper 11. More getters and setters?

I thought this paper was amazing to read since it clarified a lot of doubts I had from the previous paper on Getters and Setters. When I began to develop software using NetBeans, I was just using getters and setters. I thought it was really elegant the way the code was written such that it generates a UI for itself.

5. What was your experience of select, project, and cross join?

I thought it was really cool that we explored the implementations of select, project and cross join (although they were all poor man’s implementation). I feel like once we try to understand on what is going on under the hood, programmers would be able to use those functions better in terms of problem-solving and creative solutions.

6. What made you happy this week?

My workload was relatively lower that most weeks, so I had a lot of time to focus on my fitness (working out, baskeball) and hang out with my friends.

7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Working at a startup is an extremely valuable experience and should be something that every student/software engineer give it a chance. Software Engineers will be able to make high impact with their work. Check out this list of startups and try networking with them for internship/job opportunities! https://www.startups-list.com/
